Good bye June

I can't believe tomorrow is July already.  Where did June go?  I feel like I just got back from my vacation to Mexico.

Three exciting things happen in July.

1.  The 4th of July - I LOVE the 4th of July.  It is one of my favorite holidays.  The fact that I get to spend it back in my hometown, doing my favorite things, with my family....  super excited.

2. 101 in 1,001 - I officially can start my 101 things.  I'm actually pretty excited about it.  I'm looking forward to trying to complete the list.  Actually, I already have one thing checked off, so I better start working on #90. :)

3. my birthday - July is the month of my birth.  In my opinion, the best month to have a birthday.  It wasn't until I started working that I didn't enjoy the luxury of always having a day off on my birthday.  This year it's on a Sunday.  Yippee!!!  I turn 29 this year, which is both exciting and scary.  I am almost done with my 20s....

Come on Friday....

LONGEST WEEK EVER.

Seriously, even my boss said this week feels like it's been two weeks.

I'm considering today my official Friday since I don't plan to accomplish much work tomorrow for the half day I am in the office.  Plus, today I leave early so I can get a haircut!!!

Last night while Melissa and I were watching So You Think You Can Dance, she showed me some pictures she took of Kayla when she is just waking up in the morning.  I just had to share because it cracks me up.

I'm so lucky I got to spend this much time with her around, getting to see her every day.

I think she's going to be a funny one... just like her aunt. :)

The longest week ever

I am positive that the week of work before a vacation is quite possible the longest week in the history of work weeks.  I can't believe it is ONLY Wednesday.

Today is going to test my patience at work, so I'm already looking forward to heading home.

Plus, I need to pack for the trip.  Boy, I'm the best at procrastinating packing.  Maybe I should've added that to my list of 101 things. :)

Space Cadet

Last night I turned my TV off and was in bed before 9pm.  I fell asleep shortly after that.  It felt amazing.

I'm trying to store up sleep the rest of this week so that we can do the drive to Chicago on Friday night.  I'm praying that Samson will behave himself in the car or it could be a long drive.

Here's my outfit for the day.  Of course, today was a casual day at work (which I forgot) but I have a meeting with potential vendors - so a good excuse.

:)

I love this blouse (it's older) but I don't wear it very often because it's too short.

*Shirt - Bebe, Skirt - Jcrew, belt - Target, shoes - Payless

Btw, I have officially decided that I need to get some of my clothes tailored.  I'm really tired of cinching my belt tight to keep my clothes in the right position and having my shirts bunch up at the top because of it.

Goals Update: June

Wow, I seriously can't believe that its the end of June already.  This year is flying by so quickly, which is both good and bad.  Here's a goal update I forgot to write last Friday.

1. SAVE MONEY, REDUCE DEBT: Back on track.  I still have automatic deposits to my savings every paycheck and I'm making payments to my credit cards.  So far so good!

2. GET BACK IN SHAPE:  So far so good.  Two weeks until the half marathon.  I'm really excited to actually do the run.  I feel like I've been training forever and because of that, I've gotten a little lax on the training.  I can do 10 miles without much difficulty, so I'm hoping that with the change of scenary, water accessible at break points and running with Lauren, I will be good to go.

I'm looking forward to trying to establish a workout routine again, as well as eating better.  I've definitely improved this month, but there is still room for improvement.  Like reducing the amount of sugary stuff.  I actually was doing really well at this for a while, eating only 70% dark chocolate, and only a piece a night or two.  While I love my roommates, they don't always help in this department. :)

3. STEP OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE:  I think I've been doing pretty well in this.  I've made a bigger effort to put myself together in the morning for work.  I've done little, superficial things that I didn't used to do (my nails, for one).  And I've started my 101 list.  This goal is something I continue to work on every day.

This weekend, Melissa, Kayla, Samson and I are driving out to the midwest.  It's been a couple of years since I spent the 4th of July in my old hometown with my family.  It's my favorite way to spend that holiday so I'm really excited about it.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and taking a break from my regular routine.

Embarrassing Secret

Boy, that's a title isn't it??  :)

Today I'm wearing a shirt I haven't worn since Mexico.  It's making me miss VACATION!

*Shirt - Express, Skirt & belt - Jcrew, shoes - Marc Fischer (old)

So what's the embarrassing secret you ask?  Well, I'm embarrassed to admit that these shoes are 2-3 years old and today is the first time wearing them.  And I would be willing to be that if I went through my shoes, there may be another pair or two in there that are older than 6 months and still have not been worn.  I must do something to remedy this.  I know these shoes are because I just don't wear white shoes very often and everytime I looked at them as an option, I reasoned myself out of it.

Dirty Little Secret #1

P.s. Don't you love the purple toes too?  It's not very often my toes and finger nails match since I change my finger nails more frequently.

Touring the Country

While working on my 101 in 1,001 list last night, I thought about adding something about visit X amount of states, or visiting all 50.  But to be honest, I wasn't sure off the top of my head how many I really have visited.  Then I found this website that let's you create a map and tells you the total and percentage.  Cool!  They also have maps you can do of other countries and the entire world.

Here's my map of states I've visited.  I don't think I missed any states, but it was hard to remember all the places I traveled for volleyball.
