Outfit post and new hair style?

Last week during random blog trails, I stumbled onto an old post on Love Maegan about DIY overnight curly hair.  While I knew it wouldn't turn out exactly like hers - come on, I do NOT have that much hair - I wanted to at least give it a shot.

So late last night, I washed my hair, dried it almost completely, and set it in the little knots for bed.  The knots were pretty tight.  I would probably do them looser next time.

In the morning, I got ready and then pulled out all the knots and finger combed them like Maegan did in her tutorial.  It looked a little crazy - very much like I imagine naturally curly hair is like - which achieved what Maegan said the intent was.

See, crazy.  You know I love you internet, that I am putting this picture up.

After some messing with it in the car and a few hours to let it settle at work, here is what it looks like now.

So, overall, not bad.  I would probably do fewer knots with more hair in them next time and probably looser twisting, but I don't mind the craziness of it now that it's relaxed a bit.

Oh, here's the finished outfit for today.

Pinspiration

I think I've made it very clear, my love for Pinterest.

If you need a reminder, you can read about it here and here and here.  OH, and you can follow me by clicking on the link down the left side of the blog.  Seriously.  I love pinterest.

Which is why I was especially intrigued by a post I saw yesterday on two of my favorite blogs, Young House Love and Bower Power.

Katie (from Bower Power) came up with the idea to challenge themselves to create something they see on Pinterest, but give it a unique spin.  They managed to wrangle two other big bloggers into this challenge... a seasonal challenge.

Watch the video they made to talk about the Challenge (it's hilarious).

Unfortunately, with the things I have going on right now in addition to the 101 list and my goals, I can't participate in this challenge right now.  Boy, I sure would love to though!  Maybe the winter one.

New look

I was growing bored with the look I had going on this blog, so I figured in honor of my upcoming birthday, a fresh look.

What do you think?

I also added the "follow" links on the side bar, as well as a link on the top and sidebar to my business website and blog.  The website is thanks to my cousin Jimmy.  The blog, well, it needs work.

Now, if I could just work on more professional looking photos, this could be a legitimate blog! :)

Oh Happy Day

I'm not sure how many of you know this about me, but I like blogs.  No, I LOVE blogs.  I like to read blogs and I try to write them.  Did you know this blog is my 4th blogging attempt?  Yep, 4th!

One day one of my blogging friends, Liz, sent me an email saying, "do you read this blog?  You should.  It made me think of you."  So I started following it.  And I LOVE it.

The name of the blog is Oh Happy Day.  It's written by a woman who owns my crafting heart.  She is currently spending the year in Paris, France with her family and she is having a giveaway on her blog.  What kind of giveaway... ONE WEEK IN PARIS giveaway!!  You can ready about the giveaway on her blog.

Though it's highly unlikely, I've already started the "plus one" list.... any takers? :)

Sometimes I worry that I feel this way too.

P.S.  If you don't know about the Postsecret website, you should know about it.  That is all. :)

50!

So I just realized that my previous post was my 50th post!  However, since one of them was a "testing" message, we'll consider this my 50th post!  Happy 50th blog!!!

Volleyball last night went well. It was nice to see people, even the people on my time I'm not always thrilled about.  The playing aspect was okay.  It took me until the 3rd game to finally do some things right... which is frustrating.  I know I shouldn't have expected to just jump out and play really well, but after playing for 15+ years, you put that expectation on yourself.  Even with that, it was a good night and I really missed my Monday night league.  I did NOT however, miss how late the nights can get when we won't finish until 10pm and I still have a 45 minute drive home.  I know Samson doesn't really enjoy those days either.

The best part about yesterday was getting to spend some time with Melissa and Kayla.  Kayla is so funny now with the faces she makes, and I got to experience exactly what Melissa has been saying about her "post eating" smiley routine.  I tried to capture it on my phone but she stops as soon as you pick up your camera.... sneaky girl.

I'm not sure if all of you know this because I haven't mentioned it yet, but Melissa, Justin and Kayla are coming to live with Samson and I for a while.  It will be good for Samson and I to have some other people around and I'm sure Samson will be SUPER excited to get to sit outside ALL DAY LONG while Melissa and Kayla are home!!!  Hopefully Justin will be able to figure out the best way to handle the commute.

Plus, I get to see them every day now without having to figure out how to get down there with Samson and the commute.

PS.  this morning I saw this post on facebook that made me smile and laugh out loud.  The funniest part is I sent a text message before we started playing that said how pumped I was about how different my body looks and it was not to Melissa. :)  I have such great support from my family and friends, it's awesome!
