So I don't really watch much reality TV anymore. I just really find it redundant. So I'm shocked to say that I have watched the first two episodes of Ready for Love. I have been recording it so I can skip most of it (truth), but I actually really like to hear what the matchmakers have to say to the women and the advice they give. It's almost worth fast forwarding through most of it just to get a few nice gems.... like this one.
"99% of people in life, allow the quality of their lives to be determined by the thoughts of strangers... Never, ever, ever be one of them."
One of the matchmakers gave this advice to one of the women after he felt that she didn't step out of her shell enough. He also said that she was to concerned with making everyone happy.
It really resonated with me because I KNOW I am like this. Friends have told me this repeatedly. It's something I constantly strive to work towards. It's hard to change natural behavior and easy to fall back into what's comfortable.
*Side note - I also love Bill and Giuliana Rancic and it's awesome to see them host this show.
