new hairdo

The last time my hair was as long as it was now was when I first moved out to DC, almost six years ago.  I'm challenging myself to come up with more creative hair styles because it becomes extremely monotonous to just wear it pin straight, in a low ponytail or in a high ponytail.

Earlier this week, I found this post through the The Beauty Department blog I read.  It was for a style called "the fun bun".  Sounds cute right?  Well, I have fine hair that doesn't hold curl well and is thin.  Very thin.  So I always look at these things skeptically because they never look that way when I attempt them with my hair.

This morning I thought I would give it a try.  Granted, it definitely doesn't look exactly like the photos (expected), but I was pretty pleased with it.  It will take me some time getting used to wearing my hair that high on my head though.  Sorry the photos this morning do not do it justice (in my opinion).
