So I had a whirlwind two days in Houston for a site visit. We arrived right around lunch on Wednesday, toured a few hotels, the convention center, and then got dinner. Thursday was saved for a few more hotels, some offsite reception locations, the Minute Maid Park and a boot store.
By far, the highlight of the trip was the tour of Minute Maid Park. There is just something about a baseball park. The environment, even when there isn't a game going on, makes me so happy. Plus, this park is really nice. And bonus.... free baseball hat! So of course, I had to try it on. It totally goes with my outfit, no? :)
Towards the end of the day, my boss wanted to stop at a boot store to pick up some boots. I'm not going to lie. I have never felt more out of place in a store in my life. The giant belt buckles, the rows and rows of cowboy boots, the endless cowboy hats and jeans. The whole store smelled like leather. I made an effort by trying on one hat... and took a picture for evidence.
Needless to say, I did not go home with that hat.
I was glad to finally get home on Friday evening. Brooke is in town for the weekend for work, so I'm going to meet up with her today (Saturday).
