Random Ramblings

This weekend I was truly lazy, I admit it.  And I loved it.  The only reasons I left the house were to walk Samson and stop at the grocery store.  And yes, that means I didn't get my run in.  After weeks and weeks of killing myself, and a sore knee, I figured one weekend wouldn't kill me.  The race is THREE WEEKS away now, and I'm looking forward to it being here.

I did a lot of nothing this weekend.  Drove the dustbuster around the house, did a bit of laundry and lounged around.  It was awesome.  It allowed me to spend some time on my computer (hence the new blog look and weekend posts).

I also got to spend a bit more time with Kayla, since she is usually getting ready for the bedtime routine by the time I come home on the weekdays. She makes the funniest faces.  It was hard to capture some of them, especially since lately she just seems to stare unblinkingly at me.  Here's a few I could get:

This weekend has iffy weather too, which I think attributed to Samson hanging around me a lot during the weekend.  At one point, he was actually sleeping on the floor in my office while I was in there (something he never does)!  I got this cute picture of him napping on the bed with me... on my freshly washed and fluffed duvet of course.

Lastly, for my Monday ramblings, Melissa and I took a trip to Ulta on Friday because I wanted to look at some nailpolishes.  They were having a 2 for $6 sale on the Ulta colors, so stay tuned for some fun nails in the next couple of weeks.  I tested out my new purple this week.

One last thought...
On the radio show I listen to in the mornings, they were talking how there is a new wave of feminists that think that there is no such thing as men being chivalrous.  It's just being sexist.  Really?  Sometimes I think people take things too far and those few are going to discourage the few men left that still act politely.  I like when people hold a door open, or pull out my chair at a meal.  I appreciate that my grandfather still stands when people come to the table, and has taught my brother and cousins to do it as well.  My ex used to open the car door for me almost everytime we went anywhere.  I think these things are nice and hope that regardless of what the minority thinks, people continue to do these things.  I hope the man I meet in my future is like this.
